You Were Meant for More Than Just a Job — This Is a Leadership Role With Purpose
At Petfinity, we believe extraordinary things happen when passionate people come together around a shared purpose — and that purpose is simple:
to create a place where pets feel safe, loved, and truly cared for while their families are away.
We’re not your average pet facility. We’re Calgary’s newest and most innovative destination for animal care, bringing together boarding, daycare, training, grooming, rehabilitation, and retail under one roof. Everything we do is rooted in excellence, compassion, and accountability — for the pets, the clients, and the team.
If you’re looking to simply clock in and clock out, this role won’t be the right fit.
But if you’re ready to step into leadership, take ownership of your shift, and help set the standard for exceptional care — keep reading.
The Opportunity: Boarding & Daycare Team Lead
This is a shift supervisor / team lead role with an elevated level of responsibility. You’ll be the point person on shift — supporting the team, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring every pet in our care is safe, comfortable, and receiving consistent, high-quality care.
You’ll lead by example, help train and support team members, assist with scheduling and communication, and act as a trusted liaison between staff, leadership, and clients when needed.
Your work matters here. The tone you set, the standards you uphold, and the care you provide directly shape the experience of our pets, clients, and team.
What You’ll Do
Lead and support the boarding & daycare team during assigned shifts
Ensure all pets are cared for safely, compassionately, and according to protocol
Supervise group play, monitor behaviour, and intervene confidently when needed
Oversee daily routines including feeding, medications, enrichment, and rest
Ensure team members are following established procedures and safety standards
Assist with training and onboarding of new team members
Support scheduling needs and communicate effectively with leadership
Communicate professionally with clients regarding their pets when required
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
Step in wherever needed — lifting, cleaning, problem-solving, and supporting the team
What We’re Looking For
1–2+ years of experience in professional pet care (boarding, daycare, veterinary, or similar)
Previous leadership, supervisory, or senior team member experience is strongly preferred
Strong understanding of dog behaviour, group play management, and animal safety
Calm, confident decision-making skills — especially in busy or high-energy environments
Excellent communication and a team-first mindset
Physically capable of lifting, cleaning, walking dogs, and staying active throughout your shift
Availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
A genuine commitment to animal wellbeing and operational excellence
What You’ll Gain
A role with real responsibility and trust — your leadership makes a difference
Health and dental benefits for eligible team members
Employee discounts on Petfinity services including boarding, daycare, training, and retail
Exclusive team savings at our partnered veterinary hospital next door
Opportunities for growth as we continue to expand
