Stay Hydrated
Bring plenty of water and a portable bowl to keep your pet hydrated. Avoid letting your pets drink from unknown water sources. A collapsible water bowl is super handy, and most can attach to your pack.
Food and Treats
Pack extra pet food treats. A few high-energy treats can be great for long hikes. Long-lasting chew or dehydrated treats are easy to pack. Canned snacks will offer some extra hydration.

Tick and Flea Prevention
Use appropriate tick and flea prevention before your trip. Check your pet daily for ticks. We also have some great bug prevention options in our store, please ask any of our pawssociates for help. A tick remover or flea comb can be a lifesaver.
Exercise and Supervision
Keep your pet on a leash or under close supervision to prevent them from wandering off or encountering wildlife.
Comfort and Shelter
Bring a pet tent, blanket, or bed to ensure your pet has a comfortable place to rest. Ensure they have shade and protection from the elements. A pop-up tent can provide shade and a retreat from bugs but make sure it’s not too warm inside the tent.

Identification
Ensure your pet is microchipped so they can find their way home to you in case something happens. Consider purchasing one of our pet ID tags, personalized with your pet’s name and your phone number for added safety.
Vaccinations
Ensure your pet’s vaccinations are up to date, especially for diseases they might be exposed to in the wild. Carry proof of vaccinations just in case.
Waste Management
Bring bags to clean up after your pet and dispose of waste properly to keep the campsite clean. Biodegradable bags are eco-friendly.
Know the Rules
Check the campsite’s pet policies and any restrictions on trails or areas where pets are allowed.
Pet-Friendly Gear
Bring along some pet-friendly camping gear like a doggy backpack, booties for rough terrain, and a life jacket for water activities.

Night Safety
Use a reflective collar or attach a small LED light to your pet’s collar to keep them visible at night.
Snuggle Time
Don’t forget to relax and enjoy some snuggle time by the campfire. A cozy blanket and some cuddles can make the camping experience even more special.
